ThingLink user: KiKA - Beutolomäus Series
Description: The series about Beutolomäus, the loyal and faithful fellow of Santa Claus, ranks among the most popular programs in German children's television. For the first time ever, this year's new production shows the endearing Beutolomäus character as a computer animated figure via CGI. As one of the supplements alongside the 24 episode series (December 1st - 24th) KiKA devised a well-designed Advent calendar, using ThingLink to place the calendar windows inside the 360° view of Santa Claus' house. Children were able to enter the house and discover the 24 windows containing cooking recipes, book reviews, tips for cutting and sticking, a Beutolomäus game, and exclusive backstage material from the TV production. Every Sunday revealed a competition for the viewers to win a prize.
KiKA's Head of Online Marketing, Sven Steinhoff, and Editor, Joachim Fromm, explain, "Thinglink enabled us to create a 360° adventure that is visually appealing to our audience (children between the ages of 6 to 10), and - at the same time - it kept the level of technical effort to a minimum. The result provides a new experience for young users."
